(lets face it, I haven't stopped greeting people like that since I first stepped foot in Hawaii, and since I’ve returned home)
THESE TWO. YOU GUYYYYSS. Hands down the sweetest, cutest, most adorable, funnest, and did I say sweetest??? I messaged Randie Megan on Instagram as soon as I found out I’d be taking a trip to Oahu — shout out to Lindsey Roman for sending me her way! Basically, I asked if her and her husband David would be down for a photoshoot, they said yes, and my heart exploded. Randie Megan and David have been married for five years, have two of the sweetest girls, and basically just overflow with love for one another. We met up at Haleiwa Beach Park on the oh so breathtaking island of Oahu. We hugged and said hello, then made our way down to the beach. PS THERE ARE MOUNTAINS. I’ve seen mountains in the Carolinas and Tennessee and even the insane cliffs in Big Sur, California…but these mountains were just so serene, the water is warm(er), and my mind was just in a constant state of blown.
Anyways! So we wandered down to the beach, chatting and laughing about how awesome life is, and then David and Randie Megan just made some magic happen. They told me their story and how they had actually met while being camp counselors in a totally different state, and here they are five beautiful years into their marriage. It was seriously so apparent how much they love each other since the second we met. The authentic connection between the two of them translated perfectly into their photos. At the end of the session — and watching the most beautiful sunset I had yet seen in Hawaii — Randie Megan and David told me how much they both needed this photoshoot. It was something special to have photos just of the two of them. Then they made a date of it and hit a local restaurant after!
I think we often forget how precious every step of life is, I’m talkin’ all the little stages that might seem mundane compared to the big stuff…but there’s so much beauty in them all! Don’t get me wrong, the proposal or wedding days are absolutely epic and I’m so dang blessed to get to document those days for you. But I believe all parts of the journey should be celebrated. Whether you’ve been dating for a few months or married for 5 years, I want to celebrate that with you!
Enough with the mushy stuff ;) here’s a few of my favorites from their anniversary session in Haleiwa, Hawaii.
